Hello and good afternoon bloggers!

Today we are going to be talking about duct cleaning and why it can benefit you and your family. Also I will explain what is the right way to have your ducts cleaned and the wrong way. I'm sure you have all seen those advertisements for $120 to clean your entire home ducting system, do you really believe that it can be done for that price? The good news is I am hear to educate you and help you make a good decision on getting your ducts cleaned by the right professional.

So lets start off with WHY you should clean your ducting system. Number one reason is for your health because years of operation and use of your heating and cooling system will generate lots of dust, bacteria, hair, animal dander, skin particles and more that is actually circulation in your home.    I want to reach out to you this month about something my wife brought to my attention. I thought this would be a good time to share with you a plumbing tip that could help you and your family out. Today we are going to talk about your garbage disposal or what my wife likes to call "that blender thingy under the sink" The other day I caught my lovely wife throwing GREASE down the kitchen sink drain. Now I know what your thinking how does a plumber's wife put grease down your drain?........ I am still asking my self that same question! Anyway I want to share with you how to make your garbage disposal last longer and work better. Here are a few tips to help you out.

 

1. Keep water running for at least 15 seconds after using disposal

 

2. While running the disposal keep it on for at least 30 seconds to make sure your waste line does not get clogged.

 

3. Try not to put any starchy foods down disposal for example: Potatoes or pasta

 

4. And Absolutely no GREASE!

 

At the end of the day you can't control everything that goes into your kitchen sink disposal but you can let your family know and educate them so you can keep your appliances lasting longer which will save you money.
